I do love it so, though I have to make myself look silly pretty much straight away, because I don't know who Raymond Chandler is. :S *hides*

Yeah, I want to hug Harry Potter right now. I've missed it so much! I'm even reading fanfic again. I miss the old days.
Oh don't worry bb - I probably only really know him because I had to study him. Raymond Chandler pretty much invented the hard boiled detective genre. The whole movie is like an homage to his work - all the chapter titles are titles of his novels ('The Simple Art of Murder', 'Farewell, My Lovely', etc), and the Johnny Gossamer thing is like a send-up of his character Philip Marlowe.
All it does is make an already awesome movie even more awesome. You should read some of his stuff though! I remember him being pretty funny :D Although the plots are always really convoluted (which they were also kind of poking fun at in the movie)

Ooh, me too! There's some really great fanfic out there, too. And the really scary ones! (Why on earth would someone ship Fred/George? It boggles my brain.) I am craving new Potter. Even that encyclopaedia that JK was talking about. That would be all kinds of fabulous.
Ah, I assumed it was a send-up of someone's books, I just never knew who. Now I can pretend I always knew that! ;)
